Welcome to the Web Site of the Royal Air Force Science Fiction Association [RAFSFA].
The RAFSFA, is a Science Fiction club for the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom. Originally founded in 1992 as a Star Trek club within the RAF, it has grown to encompass Science Fiction fans from all three of the services, and their respective reserves.
The Association produces a quarterly magazine (AD ASTRA) , featuring Articles and stories written by members. In addition the club has an active social side, with an annual get-together/AGM weekend, and other social gatherings during the year.
There are two principal forms of membership:
Full: Full Membership is open to serving members of the UK Armed Forces and their respective Reserves.
Associate: Associate Membership is open to Service dependents, and civilians employed on Service establishments or working with the Military. Associate membership can also be extended to former members of the Forces. Associate membership is granted at the discretion of the Association, and reviewed annually.
